Day 50: STRUNG OUT BUT STILL MOVING. I can’t believe I been out here all alone for 50 days. Even having lived it, I can’t quite wrap my mind around it. This wind storm still has not subsided so I spent another day getting beat down. Fingers crossed I catch a break on the weather soon. I’ve been writing a lot about the mental game as it’s clearly the most crucial part of this challenge (or any challenge for that matter). However today I want to honor my body and health. I wholeheartedly believe that nothing in life is more important that being healthy. Without that it’s hard to do or do fully. I’m so fortunate to have parents that instilled that in me from a young age, teaching me the importance of healthy eating and exercise. My dad is an organic farmer so I guess you could say it’s in my blood. Despite feeling exhausted and worn out, I’m grateful for having lived a healthy lifestyle, for without that I’m certain my body would have given up by now. And on the health front, I’m glad to be partnered with @Grandrounds who go above and beyond to guide people to the highest quality healthcare. It’s incredible to know they provide access to medical expertise literally anywhere on the planet! #GrandRounds #TheImpossibleFirst #BePossible

Bývalý profesionálny atlét Colin O'Brady vyrazil 3. novembra spolu so 49-ročným Britom Louisom Ruddom z ľadovca Union.

? ANNOUNCING THE BIGGEST PROJECT OF MY LIFE: “THE IMPOSSIBLE FIRST” ? . . Harkening back to the turn of the 20th century, humans have been trying to cross the continent of Antarctica from coast to coast. Everest has been conquered, oceans have been sailed, rowed and even paddle boarded across solo - however, from the time Shackleton first set foot in Antarctica over 100 years ago, a solo, unsupported and unaided crossing of Antarctica via the South Pole still remains unfinished, leaving it one of the last remaining iconic “firsts” in exploration. In recent years after the tragic passing of Henry Worsley and failed attempts of other famous polar explorers - many have said this crossing is IMPOSSIBLE. On November 1st, I depart for the ice to prove that this is indeed possible. This project will push me to my absolute limit dragging a 400lb sled alone across the ice for 70 days while battling -40 degree temperatures. This journey isn’t just about me, but more importantly about unlocking the untapped potential that lives inside all of us. Make your “impossible” dreams possible. #BePossible

Posledných 32 hodín opísal O'Brady ako "jedny z najnáročnejších hodín" svojho života. "Keď mám byť úprimný, boli to zároveň jedny z najlepších okamihov, aké som kedy zažil," dodal. Louis Rudd v čase, keď O'Brady dosiahol svoj cieľ, zaostával za ním asi jeden až dva dni.

Výkon O'Bradyho je podľa novín New York porovnateľný s pretekmi o dosiahnutie južného pólu v roku 1911 medzi Nórom Roaldom Amundsenom a Britom Robertom Falconom Scottom.

Day 15: BRUTAL HEADWIND. Nothing like taking a 25 mph headwind to the face all day with the ambient temperature -27C. That makes for a bone chilling windchill of -80...I can barely count that low. Needless to say it was a bit of a sufferfest today, but I still managed a full day out here. On a day like today this picture sums up the highlight of my day as I shovel my last scoop of snow to secure my tent, knowing I get to crawl inside to a warm stove and dinner to escape the elements for a bit. In other bigger and way more exciting news, @jennabesaw brought home a puppy today needing a cuddle buddy while I’m away. Having been encouraging of this decision, sadly I can’t see a picture or meet him until I’m back, but it seems only fair that she share that with you all. With limited bandwidth from my satellite phone not allowing me to post to IG stories, seems like Jackson “Jack” the puppy should feature heavily on the story while I’m out here. I mean who doesn’t want to see a puppy?! ? Can’t wait to meet the newest member of my family. ❤️ #TheImpossibleFirst #BePossible
